Job Description

Red Diamond Recruitment are pleased to be working exclusively with a specialist engineering business based in West Yorkshire.We are currently looking for Senior Design Engineer who has experience within an engineering design role involving rotating machinery.This opportunity offers fantastic benefits; hybrid-working, flexitime, and professional development to name a few.If you feel that you are ready for your next challenge, and you are looking to work on world-class projects then this role offers just that!Roles & Responsibilities

  • Acting principally under the direction of the Engineering Manager and/or Project Leader, to work flexibly within the Engineering team on assigned gearbox design projects and associated product engineering activities.
  • The scope of the tasks will primarily comprise/address the mechanical design and detailing of high integrity components and assemblies, but will include other supporting systems and equipment such as couplings, instrumentation, lubrication, materials selection,documentation and test rig design as necessary.
  • Engineering design of geared transmission systems and components.
  • Design of test equipment and procedures.
Skills
  • 2D & 3D CAD usage at expert level, Solid Edge preferred, to create component and assembly drawings.
  • Drawing and technical documentation checking. BOM and gear data generation and engineering change control processing.
  • Understanding of product design and analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of Machinery safety regulations and requirements.
  • Strong understanding of rotating technology; operating behaviours, associated components and systems, tradeoffs, materials, architectures and state of the art design.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques, SAP user.
Experience
  • At least 5 years experience within a relevant engineering design role.
  • Experienced in the application of Machinery Safety regulations and requirements.
  • Degree educated is desirable - with relation to a mechanical engineering subject.
