Job Description

Engage Education are currently supporting a school in the Huddersfield area who is in need of a SEN tutor to deliver sessions to various students who are not accessing the on-site provision.You would deliver the sessions at the students home address.This role would suit a qualified teacher or SEN tutor who is confident in going to students homes and delivering a variety of lessons. You will also need a firm understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs.This is to start in February and will be until the end of the academic year.You would need access to your own vehicle.Your Role:

  • Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis
  • Delivering lessons face to face
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents and other stakeholders
  • You will be assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities
What you will need:
  • A range of behaviour management techniques
  • To have worked with learners with a range of needs
  • The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
  • To be able to commit to working with young people for a period of time to ensure consistency of learning
  • A resilient attitude
