A home and leisure brand in West Yorkshire are looking to recruit a Product DesignerTHE COMPANYIn late 2020 this home and leisure brand in West Yorkshire recruited their first ever Product Designer. The company has performed exceptionally since then and they’re now looking to take the next step in their growth plans and recruit another Designer to come in as a Middleweight Product Designer. The company have a flexible approach to working hours - which is great if you like to avoid the morning commute, are an avid gym-goer, night owl, or need to be available for school pick-ups or drop-offs.THE ROLEIn this role you will be the right-hand to the existing Product Designer and will work closely with them, the MD, and the in-house marketing team to develop their range of home and leisure products further. They have plans to grow their existing range and you will have a voice of your own in the team which will be listened to and you will come up with your own concepts, develop and prototype new product ideas. You will work closely with the sourcing team in the Far East and work on reviewing moulding and tooling with manufacturing partners. You will review and approve pre-production samples alongside the wider team.ABOUT YOUTo be successful in this role you will have some demonstrable experience in a Product Design role. The Product Designer you’ll be working with will also be looking for a good team fit with the rest of the office - who are all outgoing, creative, relaxed people. You must have strong Solidworks / Adobe Suite skills, a portfolio demonstrating your work, and a Product Design related degree. You will ideally have any experience with working with manufacturers in the Far East.
