Job Description

JHE & Partners are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a leading manufacturing company based in Huddersfield. This global manufacturer is a leader in textiles and fabrics, with a focus on innovation and quality. Reporting directlyto the MD, the chosen individual will manage and supervise all aspects of production and manufacturing and work closely with all senior managers to ensure contract completion and process improvements.Duties & responsibilities

  • Managing and supervising production activity on daily basis
  • Translating weekly and monthly manufacturing targets into daily requirements
  • Holding weekly production meetings to set targets and objectives with team leaders and discuss any failings
  • Review and hold operators accountable to performance
  • Communicate clearly with operators to ensure work flow and quality production levels are maintained as necessary
  • Resolve any issues and communicate any HR and H&S issues through management channels as necessary
  • Managing the production team, liaising with team leaders to ensure weekly and daily targets are achieved
  • Communicating any issues, delays or problems with senior management and making proposals or advising of actions taken to support the projected targets
  • Monitor and review operator performance including annual reviews
  • Carry out risk assessments for production tasks and ensure SOP’s and Safe Systems of Work are in place and adhered to
  • Oversee stock management, with hands-on involvement in monthly and annual physical stock counts
  • Liaison with Maintenance Team to ensure minimal downtime during scheduled maintenance tasks
The chosen candidate will need to have a background in textile manufacturing and be able to show previous experience in managing the full operations and production process within a similar organisation.
