Job Description

DC562Multi-Skilled Electrical EngineerLocationHuddersfieldSalary£30,000 to £35,000 DOEOverview:First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team.Our client is a global expert in upgrading concrete floor flatness in VNA/narrow aisle warehouses and distribution centres. Each year they grind thousands of linear metres of aisle to enable VNA forklift trucks to operate safely and efficiently.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled team in working on a wide range of specialist construction equipment, designed, built and maintained in house.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The right candidate will be dealing with a variety of builds, repairs, breakdowns and site support.
  • In an effort to eliminate repetitive faults, the company invests time in developing its equipment and therefore the position will involve the successful candidate voicing ideas and participating in design changes and development.
  • On occasions, the right candidate will have the opportunity to attend sites to perform fault diagnosis and repair.
  • --- The locations of these sites can range throughout the UK and Overseas.
  • The successful candidate will also be given the project of overhauling the drawings and organisation of the build paperwork.
  • --- This involves working with various old systems then modernising and standardising them to develop a set format for future machines.
  • Some time will be spent working with sister companies and supporting the group as a whole.
Skills and Experience:Essential:
  • Relevant electrical qualification and/or suitable experience (automotive or site/appliance).
  • Ability to perform electrical modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Familiarity with motors and control systems.
  • Understand and work from electrical circuit diagrams and drawings.
  • Able to diagnose and fault find.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards and best practice.
Highly Desirable:
  • Basic mechanical fitting skills.
  • Worked with 12- & 24-volt systems (automotive systems).
  • PAT Testing.
  • Identifying and introducing new technology, including liaising with equipment suppliers and creating specifications and acceptances.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus based systems.
  • Familiarity with any electrical computer packages.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Personal Skills:
  • Able to work methodically and pay close attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to prioritise.
  • Able to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work effectively as a team and independently.
In return our client offers:
  • A salary of £30,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience.
