If you have a true passion for design maybe as ahobby, or you enjoy using CAD in your spare time and have recently graduated from college within a construction discipline or design then this is something you wont want to miss!There is an internal training program to develop in to a fully-fledged Designer in 2 years. Youll learn how to design our products, primarily timber roof trusses in preparation for manufacture, how to work and develop relationships with customers as wellas everything in between.Is this role right for meFirst and foremost, we always want to recruit talented people that align well with our values and way of working. For this role in particular we are looking for someone with the following;

  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing Construction Design career.
  • Experience in Auto CAD would be advantageous
  • Good level of academic achievements: A-Level/GCSE Mathematics and English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work alone.
  • Be able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
What will I be doing in the roleOur Junior Truss Designer is really important to our success and a critical part of our customers positive experience with us. In this role you will;
  • Produce high quality designs for customers within given timescales
  • Produce quotations for potential customer orders
  • Create orders to put onto the system
  • Carry out pre-quote calls, in order to discuss the customers requirements and produce the quote
  • Carry out post-quote calls, in order to check the quote meets the customers needs and ask for the order
  • Keep the customer informed of all updates concerning the order
  • Identify opportunities to maximise customer service and translate into sales
