Job Description

Inspection LeaderFunction: OperationsReporting to: Manufacturing DirectorLocation: Huddersfield

  • To provide effective inspection leadership, quality and documentation control to the Large Machining Case Machining and Defence Machining departments.
  • To be prepared to work as part of a team and develop the inspection process to ensure all parts are conforming.
  • To have the desire to build a quality culture of right first time through structured processes and clear communication.
  • To provide leadership and direction to the inspection team to ensure conformity of all parts prior to release from the machining areas
  • To take ownership of the inspection process including, in process samples, spot samples, end of process inspection and quality audits
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • To develop the team to ensure inspection cover is available when required (Laser, CMM)
  • To take ownership and produce data for the K.P.I boards
  • To generate, maintain, store and control records
  • The maintenance and creation of Standard Operating Procedures
  • To liaise with Assembly & Engineering for all production processes
  • To liaise with customer and client inspectors
  • Review and interpret laser inspection data
  • Review and interpret CMM inspection data
  • Raise, investigate & support machine shop NCRs
  • FARO Laser & CMM understanding
  • Ability to train and educate root cause analysis techniques. Lead 7 Step Investigations
  • Experience in the use of computer systems (preferably SAP and Microsoft Office suite)
  • Experience of Standard Inspection Measurement practices
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015
