Job Description

ICT Technician required in Huddersfield!Maze Recruitment Group are working with a mainstream Secondary school in Huddersfield who are looking to recruit an experienced ICT Technician to join their team.As a school ICT Technician you will work as part of a team with teachers, teaching assistants and other support staff and play a crucial role in supporting and improvement of students’ learning experience. ICT Technicians are responsible for looking afterschool networks, install, order and maintain software and hardware and provide technical support to teachers and pupils.Our client school is looking for an experienced ICT Technician starting November 2023, working in a school Monday to Friday. This role has the potential to be permanent for the right candidate.The Role:

  • Maintaining the schools network.
  • Installing new software and upgrading existing applications.
  • Providing technical support for teachers and pupils.
  • Running diagnostics.
  • Maintaining and developing the schools website and intranet.
  • Maintaining hardware peripherals (e.g. scanners, printers, external drives).
  • Purchasing kit.
  • Ensuring internet systems are safe and offer full child protection.
  • Training teachers and students.
  • Liaising with suppliers on maintenance or licensing deals.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, hardware and software commonly used in schools.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • The ability to explain problems and solutions clearly to non-technical users.
  • The ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A patient and methodical approach.
  • The ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • An awareness of health and safety.
