Post title: Health Care Assistant/PhlebotomistDirectorate: Living Well Business UnitBand: Agenda for change band 3Hours: 37.5An exciting opportunity has arisen within our New Phlebotomy Service for a Health Care Assistant Band 3. The hours required to work would be 37.5 hours per week and will be flexible to meet the needs of the service. The post is suitable for individuals who wish to develop their clinical skills further andsupport the delivery of high-quality Phlebotomy care within our busy unit. As a Phlebotomists you will perform venepuncture and blood collection as requested by our primary care colleagues. You will ensure blood samples are labelled correctly and returned to the laboratory in a timely fashion.It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team and under own direction. You will also require manual dexterity of a level to perform your phlebotomy duties. It is essential that you have excellent IT skills as well as the key requirements as a HCA, together with a recognised certification/ accreditation in phlebotomy and must be able to demonstrate competency.
