Job Description

Gifford and Partners are working exclusively with a fast growth Tech and Manufacturing SME business based near to Huddersfield to appoint an Assistant Finance Manager. The role will report into, and be mentored by, an experienced and qualified FinancialController. Key to this role will be the financial reporting and production of monthly accounts alongside commercial analysis and decision making. Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to;

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts and commercial analysis in collaboration with department heads to aid slick and speedy commercial decision making.
  • Business partner and collaborate with various operational stakeholders to gather relevant analysis for cashflow forecasting.
  • Financial Analysis to identify key financial trends and provide recommendations for improvement as well as tracking growth, ensuring systems and processes are correctly aligned
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Implement and oversee improvements to financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts and commercial analysis in collaboration with department heads to aid slick and speedy commercial decision making
  • Ensure capital expenditure processes are followed and design a reporting system to give real-time progress against capital budgets.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide insights into variances.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with overall company objectives.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of documentation for internal and external audits as well as ensuring compliance with audit requirements and resolve any audit-related issues.
Likely, this role is targeting a recently or nearly qualified CIMA/ACAACMA/ACCA individual. You will have proven experience within a similar accounting role ideally with exposure to management accounting, cashflow reporting and process improvement. At thelevel this role is operating, you will have excellent communication skills both verbally and by way of written report. To have an eye for detail and be able to not just interpret, but commercially analyse and aid commercial decision making, will be a givenin this fast growth SME business.This role offers an excellent platform to springboard into a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role in a business that is demonstrating fast growth and international expansion.
