Job Description

My client are a team of legal professionals who offer nationwide service to assist people in getting justice. They are a multi-award-winning company who have a friendly, family orientated working environment that they are currently recruiting into!They are looking for a Small Claims Fee Earner to join them on a permanent basis who is wanting to learn, develop and progress with them. The Small Claims Portal Fee Earner will be responsible for the handling of a caseload of personal injury claims beingconducted within the new Official Injury Online (OIC) Portal. The Small Claims Portal Fee Earner will pro-actively manage their caseload whilst providing a high quality and professional level of customer service.Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to our clients and industry leading levels of customer care.
  • Have a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Pro-actively manage a caseload.
  • Able to competently handle claims within the OIC Portal.
  • Accurately assess and value personal injury claims, including general and special damages, ensuring the right outcome is obtained for our clients.
  • Drafting schedules of financial losses.
  • Obtain and review medical evidence.
  • Submit offers to settle within the OIC Portal.
  • Settle claims within the OIC Portal.
  • Confident negotiator
  • Meet realistic commercial expectations
  • Delivering guidance and support to other colleagues within the operation.
  • To support the Claims Assistant Team, as and when required, with their daily responsibilities including incoming new claim enquiries.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience of working as Claims Handler/Fee Earner within personal injury.
  • Experience of working with Eclipse Proclaim Management Software is desirable.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and towards tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Ability to work to a high level of accuracy with an eye for detail
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Good time keeper
  • A good team player, but also the ability to work on own initiative
  • Flexible approach to work
