Job Description

Do you enjoy the challenge of developing new product formulations from customer briefsAs a Development Chemist, you will create new product formulations from customer briefs for this personal care / home care contract manufacturer in Huddersfield. You will take formulations through to scale up and full-scale production within the plant ensuringfull compliance for the markets intended.WHATS ON OFFER* Job type: Full-time / Permanent* Competitive salary based on experience* Based Huddersfield* Career development opportunities* A dynamic and friendly environment* Generous holiday allowance with buy/sell holiday scheme* Private medical healthcare* Excellent contributory pension scheme* Mental and physical wellbeing initiatives* Volunteering daysYour daily duties as a Development Chemist will include:* Develop personal care/home care formulations according to customer / marketing briefs, whilst ensuring full compliance for the market (EU, UK, US).* Execute product development plans with clear timelines to completion.* Maintain clear records on RMs stock keeping, carry out COSHH risk assessment, as necessary.* Develop product concepts based around current and upcoming market trends to be used at trade shows and conferences to promote the Crafted brand and business.* Building strong relationships with current and new suppliers.* Prepare Technical Dossiers for scale up and handover to operators in the plant ready for manufacture.* Problem solve within formulation design to overcome any issues experienced both in development and scale up.* Conduct all work according to GLP, GMP, QMS practice and supervise technical team when needed.To be considered for this Development Chemist role, you will need to have the following:* Batchelors or MSc in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field* Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, regulations and industry trends* 2 years experience in a similar role * Motivated and ambitious personality* It would be a bonus if you have an SCS DiplomaABOUT THE COMPANYOur client works with personal care and home care start-ups as well as established brands to help them realise their brand ambitions.
