Job Description

Excellent opportunity to join an award-winning distribution and logistics business who operate within the chemicals industry. Youll be based at their brand-new modern premises in Huddersfield (HD1), conveniently accessible either by public transport (10-minutewalk from train station) or by car as they offer free on-site parking.Due to continued growth of the business, they now require 2 Customer Service Administrators, one of whom will also take responsibility for helping maintain goods in their Warehouse. The key job purpose is to provide customer service support from point ofenquiry to delivery of Goods, including all associated stock processing and invoicing.YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Shipping hazardous freight - obtain freight quotes and organise despatch with sea freight, airfreight and courier companies, ensuring necessary documentation in place.
  • Keep customers informed about their order, including vessel details and any deviation from their requirements.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices
  • Obtain freight quotes and check freight invoices to confirm costs
  • Arrange UPS/FEDEX despatch of commercial shipments/samples to customers
  • Despatching of samples to client and updating sample spreadsheet
  • Request specific labelling at point of despatch from warehouse
  • Using on-line system request including collection
  • Provide customers with appropriate COA for each shipment
  • Alert sales team to any pricing and availability issues
  • Alert supply chain to any stock issues
  • Check warehouse confirmation to ensure all items correctly picked
  • Processing incoming orders using the Sage 200 system. Checking pricing, terms and stock availability before sending customer confirmations.
  • Allocate appropriate product and ensure documentation is distributed correctly for the preparation of goods.
  • Should you be considered for the additional role, this will also include: Collecting Samples for testing by QC / Ensure stock is located correctly on receipt or transfer/ Packing up of goods / Assisting with stocktakes when required / Maintaining Customswarehouse records to ensure compliance with HMRC / Checking stock of packaging materials and ordering as required
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Previous Admin & Customer Service experience (if from a logistics/warehouse/distribution/chemicals business, this will prove advantageous, but by no means a pre-requisite).
  • Computer literacy with MRP system experience - e.g. Sage 200
  • Good communication skills via email and telephone
  • Ability to work to schedules
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and work under pressure.

  • Knowledge of Import/Export or IATA beneficial.
