Job Description

This Capital Project Manager role will require you to manage site construction and contractor activities to deliver project, cost, programme and quality targets on a Top Tier COMAH site. Based in Huddersfield.Client DetailsOur client is one of the worlds leading chemical companies with an ambition to improve the sustainability, quality and safety of agriculture with world class science and innovative crop solutions.DescriptionThe client are seeking a Capital Project Manager / Contract Delivery Manager for the Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre which is a top tier COMAH site.The role will require you to manage site construction and contractor activities to deliver projects, cost, programmes and quality targets.The successful candidate will have the ability to promote and improve Health and Safety performance, including: - audits, proactive interventions, reviewing of RAMS, and participation in CDMs as required and accident incident reviewsThis role would suit candidates who are looking to move away from construction management and more towards contract support and construction productivity improvements management in a project and chemical maintenance environment.

  • Be able to work within teams, which facilitate contractor resource planning process and management of forward resource profile to ensure appropriate resource is available for construction projects and maintenance support activities.
  • Responsible for construction and contractor HSE performance and promoting safe systems of work and behaviours.
  • Working with contract supervisor and teams.
  • Ensure clear and robust communication lines are established between Engineering and Production teams and contractors.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors to drive quality and efficiency of delivery
  • Hands-on support to construction projects where required
  • Manage construction systems and practises driving continuous improvement and efficiency e.g.
  • Provide construction advice to design teams
  • Lead construction reviews
    • Profile
  • Knowledge of mechanical, fabrication, electrical and civil elements of construction, with a strong background in one of these disciplines.
  • Ability to think and plan ahead, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage high workloads and multiple conflicts of priority.
  • First Line Management experience and working with contractors is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of working on a Top Tier COMAH site.
  • Proven experience of driving efficiency in methods of working and, as required lead or participate in efficiency initiative and improvements in ways of working.
    • Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC level or equivalent engineering qualification relating to engineering discipline eg: Mechanical or Electrical
