BuyerHuddersfield (HD4), West Yorkshire£30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience.Permanent, with immediate start for the right personDo you have experience as a Buyer looking to join a renowned manufacturer in their field where you will be working Monday - Friday in an office-based roleThe CompanyWayland Additive Limited is a West-Yorkshire-based company pushing the boundaries of electron beam 3D printing. Waylands goal is to develop, manufacture and sell metal Additive Manufacturing (AM - 3D printing) machines to industrial end-users such as majorplayers in the aerospace and medical industries. Waylands technology is based around highly sophisticated evolutions from the worlds of scanning electron microscopy and electron beam lithography. As a result of these innovations, the machine will offer higher productivity, unparalleled process monitoringand control, and versatility in materials.About the Buyer role:In this role, you will be tasked with assisting the procurement function of the business whilst driving profit through developing strong relationships with suppliers.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Purchase goods at agreed costs from approved suppliers working from system-generated reports.
  • Ensure that material is delivered on time to enable continuous production in order to meet demand
  • Maintain and manage supplier relationships through regular contact and meetings to ensure continual improvement.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking projects.
  • Reduce the stock holding and increase inventory turns on the commodity assigned.
Experience, knowledge, and skills required:
  • A key aspect of this role will involve dealing with internal and external suppliers, therefore, a confident telephone manner, excellent communication skills and negotiation skills are essential.
  • As well as working as part of a team, the ability to work alone, react to changing targets and being able to prioritise tasks is also crucial for the role.
  • The ability to work proactively by solving issues and presenting solutions whilst maintaining and developing new processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) along with previous with MRP systems and in data analysis is essential.
  • The successful candidate must have a minimum of three years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably electronics) and ideally be CIPS qualified.
Your contract and benefits on starting:
  • Salary £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
