Job Description

Building SurveyorWest Yorkshire, Kirklees3-Month contract - on goingSellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join an established housing association in the West Yorkshire, Kirklees. This role would be managing complex repairs and capital works projects, incorporating diagnosis, specification,commissioning, and contractor supervision.Building Surveyor Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the delivery of high-quality maintenance projects to connects properties, ensuring excellent customer service
  • Carrying out surveys to customers homes, recording detailed stock condition information and diagnosing building faults and failures
  • Preparing detailed specifications, procuring, and managing the delivery on site of repairs
  • Completing maintenance and component replacement works to ensure quality and customer satisfaction are achieved
  • Preparation liaison and submission of building control, planning and listed building applications
  • Ensuring that complaints and other tasks including pre-inspections, post-inspections, surveys for condensation, damp, mould, or disrepair, are completed effectively within a specified timescale
  • Contributing to the development of component and service specifications for the delivery of planned maintenance work.
  • Proactively communicating and engaging with tenants both before and during works in relation to any tenants enquiries.
Building Surveyor Essential Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in building construction and maintenance
  • Extensive experience of building project management and administration
  • Significant practical working experience of construction project costing and cost monitoring
  • Working with tenants/customers within a customer focussed business
  • In depth understanding of contractual and health and safety law in relation to maintenance and development.
  • Extensive experience of explain the causes of failure of building components and the likely results of failure.
