This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join the accounts department of a growing law firm based in central Huddersfield. This role is ideally suited to someone with previous accounts experience and a genuine interest in working in legalaccounts.Training is provided, however the successful applicant will have a genuine interest in working in accounts in a legal environment. You will be numerate with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.This is a busy and varied role where you will be responsible managing financial transactions and assisting with the monitoring of all bank accounts and processing financial requests in a timely manner, including contacting clients when necessary.Duties will include:Assisting with the processing of financial transactions for the law firm.Cashiering, banking, and raising ad hoc chequesChecking email inboxes and dealing with communication appropriatelyKeeping the invoice system up to dateKeeping the archive of completed matters up to date and restoring matters when required.Attending the bank to deposit paymentsLiaising with the Compliance Officer and finance team, reporting any breaches and keeping the risk register updatedLiaise with fee earners and support staff to ensure finance processes are embeddedWorking in a fast paced, busy environmentBeing able to prioritise work loadsProvision of general administration assistance to the departmentApplicants must have:Minimum of 5 GCSE’s - Grade C and above (or equivalent) in Maths and English are essentialThe ability to work well under pressure and towards tight deadlinesStrong organisational skillsHighly numerateAbility to work to a high level of accuracy with an eye for detailThe ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the firm, with clients and external contactsGood time keeperA good team player, but also the ability to work on own initiativeGood data input skillsIntermediate to advanced Excel SkillsFlexible approach to work
