Job Description

SEND Healthcare Classroom Assistants - Swanley

  • Working with 6-10 students
  • We are currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to work on a 1:1 support basis in our SEND learning environments and are actively looking for individuals who want to make a difference.Empowering Learning are looking for outstanding Healthcare Workers who are dedicated and passionate. We are looking for individuals who are looking for a long-term role in our fantastic SEND Education settings. Our SEND settings caters for children and young adults from 5-25 years old with varied SEND needs such as Autism, Profound Multiple learning difficulties, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties, Moderate and Severe learning difficulties and Speech and language communication difficulties. The ideal candidate would have experience of working with young male adults and feel comfortable working with individuals with challenging behaviour.To be considered for the Support Worker position you must have the following:
  • Experience supporting young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Experience/willingness to assist with personal care - feeding, changing moving and handling
  • Experience with PEG feeding/tube feeding
  • Ability to deal with paperwork and lead within the role
  • Experience and willingness to support individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students.
  • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
