Job Description

Our client are a leading Builders Merchant providing building supplies to the construction industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the business for an Internal Sales Manager.They require someone with suitable Builders Merchant experience who has managed teams and worked within the internal sales role within building supplies previously. The main areas of responsibility are as follows:Main Duties:Sales

  • Taking orders, processing and helping with customer enquiries.
  • Chasing up on quotes and overseeing all salespeople quote chasing.
  • Communicating with external sales to ensure we are reacting to all possible leads.
  • Have input into the sale targets of individuals and overall sales targets.
  • Monitor and ensure Online sales are completed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor & report on offers (team/ individual)
  • Monitor & report on outstanding quotations and conversion rates by user
  • Compile monthly sales report (to include sales, margin, team & individual performance against target)
  • Report on customer activity (Top 10/ bottom 10 performance, customer order book)
  • Report on Product Group Target sales
  • Complete Cashing Up at the end of day
  • Employees and Managers
  • Work closely with sales staff on the counter and internal sales to ensure we are maximising our potential of sales
  • Work individually with all salespeople to help them progress in their own sales and delivery of service.
  • Oversee the targets and goals for sales staff, also understanding if and why they are increasing or decreasing.
  • Update team on MTD progress using sales targets.
  • Brief the sales team on sales/ offers / new products, review the previous week
  • Brief the sales team on any other updates from management
  • Hold a Team meeting to review previous month/ objectives for the new month
  • Review individual performance against the target with the sales team, initiate action plans where required.
  • Arrange a minimum of 2 staff product training sessions per month
  • Report and organise on proactive calling with team
  • Customers
  • To be there to work with and for customers to increase their spend with both companies then give feedback to the sales offices as to the next movements.
  • Deal with any accounts that we are at risk of losing or disgruntled accounts.
  • Products
  • Talking to manufacturers for new or fast-moving items.
  • Relaying new or moving items to staff and ensure they understand the product fully.
  • Reporting on sales issues with items be it price, availability, performance, or reception from customers
  • Target product group sales in line with Product Group Target sales
