We operate two cement plants and around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.Position: Mechanical CraftspersonLocation: Hope Valley, DerbyshireJob type: Full Time, PermanentSalary: £CompetitiveClosing date for applications: 7th March, 2020About the role:We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Craftsperson, to be part of our elite maintenance team at Hope Cement Works, Derbyshire. The maintenance team play a key role in our daily operations and major plant shutdowns.The purpose of this position is to undertake essential maintenance works, both planned and reactive, in a busy industrial environment to ensure the plant is able to meet its production requirements, minimise downtime and maximising up time, whilst ensuring quality of work is maintained.About you:You will need to demonstrate experience of strong mechanical skills in gear boxes, bearing, coupling fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and gas cutting. Experience of working in a heavy industrial environment is essential, as is experience of working within an automated production facility. You will be fully conversant with conveyor systems, lathe, milling machines and pillar drills.The following skills and experience are strongly desirable:- City & Guilds, B-Tech, NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering.- A recognised Apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment.- Experience using a computerised maintenance management system such as SAP.- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.- Experience of slinging & rigging operations in a heavy industrial environment would be an advantage.- The ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, vernia, DTI).- Experience of carrying out engineering activities / maintenance to support 24 / 7 production.- Analytical and problem solving skills.The Group places the highest importance on sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management and you will be expected to contribute to the Company’s zero harm culture.You may have experience of the following: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Plant Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, Maintenance Engineer, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Maintenance, Heavy Industrial Environment etc.Ref: 91944
