Junior Mining EngineerAn exciting permanent position has become available for a full-time Junior Mining Engineer based in Derbyshire. The successful candidates salary is to be discussed at the interview.The junior mining engineer will be given the opportunity to develop competencies across all aspects of the mining operation which may include both internal and external training courses.As a junior mine engineer you will deliver mining engineering services to the mines management team in support of all underground activities. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the effective management of ventilation, stope design, ground control,pumping, electrical systems, blasting, and other technical projects. You will actively engage on a daily basis with production and management teams to ensure that processes are optimised and continuously increase operational efficiency. You will be given undergroundoperational experience working directly with the mining teams undergroundRole Requirements

• Mining Engineering to Bachelors degree level or higher (other similar qualifications considered).
• Previous mining experience would be beneficial but isnt essential (suitable graduates will be considered).
• Enthusiasm to work in an underground environment
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Functional use of AutoCAD.
• Prior experience in Micromine is beneficial but not essential.
• A demonstrated willingness to follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to conform to shifting or changing priorities.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• A willingness to work as a committed team member with a flexible and cooperative attitude is essential.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to demonstrate good safe work practises and adherence to the companys policies and procedures.
• Lead by example, self-starter and works well under pressure.

Role Responsibilities

• You must comply with any directions given to you by your line manager or supervisor.
• Display excellent team work capabilities as and when you are paired with either a No. 1 Miner or Senior Miner when working in the face.
• You must take reasonable care at all times of the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
• You must adhere to all Health and Safety rules, policies and instructions given to you
• You will provide technical and engineering support to the mines management and underground teams.
• You will be involved in engineering projects within the companys operations, from the design phase through to procurement, installation and commissioning.
• You will liaise with retained consultants in areas such as mine ventilation, ground support and electrical and mechanical installations.
• You will liaise with the companies planning manager to ensure compliance with planning requirements, maintaining the necessary monitoring and associated procedures, keeping appropriate records of all works.
• You will assist in the health and safety management of day to day working practice including major hazard control.
• You undertake any other duties delegated by management as and when required.

Company Our client was founded in 1969 in Sardinia and through its various operations in Italy, Norway, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany and Bahrain, covers the entire fluorine value chain, from the extraction of fluorspar to HF and its derivative products.Our Client operates an underground Mine in the Peak District extracting fluorspar ore from a sub-vertical hydrothermal vein hosted in limestones.
