Communication and Engagement Officer (Maternity Cover)Edale, Hope Valley S33 7ZA, UK£22,183 to £24,491 per annumWe are recruiting a part-time Communications and Engagement Officer to deliver communications and engagement activities for the award-winning Moors for the Future Partnership, with a focus on the MoorLIFE 2020 Project.The EU LIFE programme-funded MoorLIFE 2020 project is carrying out conservation works to protect internationally important moorlands across the South Pennine Moors Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Scientific monitoring will provide evidence of the benefit of the project, and activities to engage with landowners, urban and rural communities will ensure the results of the project are widely known.We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of working in an engagement and communications role. You’ll be part of the small team responsible for the planning and delivery of a programme of engagement events that will highlight the vital importance of moorland habitats to a huge range of people - including residents and visitors - across the South Pennine Moors SAC.You’ll be involved in coordinating a busy calendar of events, from conferences and seminars, to public and land manager engagement including utilising our state-of-the-art Bogtastic Van! You will manage the booking of resources and interact with colleagues and external organisations to ensure the smooth running of events. You will engage with a number of key stakeholders including partner organisations, land owners/ managers, and members of the public. You’ll carry out traditional and digital communications activities for the Partnership such as liaising with journalists, drafting press releases, website and social media content. .In return, we can offer you the opportunity of making a real difference to the South Pennine uplands, working as part of a friendly and focused team.
