The Logistics & Transport Manager is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take on a wider scope of responsibility with in End to End Logistics. The role is working for a leading manufacturer and global distributor of its products. This specialist manufacturer with international recognition for quality and service has a progressive and suitable order book. The Logistics & Transport Manager is a pivotal role that really empowers the post holder to drive customer satisfaction and seek toprovide logistic solutions that meet the delivery schedule. Managing a small team of people the role will coordinate the material and product movements from its global suppliers and distribute to global customers. Its important that the post holder collaborates with peers across the organisation; Sales, Production,Finance etc. to ensure logistics solutions meet the On Time Delivery requirements to customers and achieve high satisfactionThis role is a great opportunity for a logistics professional who has experience in logistics control; import, export and haulage across Air, Road, Sea. You dont need all the experience to be successful, but you will need to have a confident, go getter attitudeto learn and wants self-development. The business are wanting the right person to join them, take ownership and lead the logistics operations. In return you will have external training, this includes professional qualifications if needed. Overall summary of role:As you will manage the operation you will be required to manage all operational aspects of the international department to a high, compliant standard in accordance with our clients ambitious company strategy. You will ensure that the team are delivering an exceptional service to the client whilst leading activity that will improve the organisations market position within the industry.What you will be responsible for:* Managing the operational aspects of the International Logistics department* Managing the day to day activity and operational staff within the department* Delivering agreed business objectives* Driving the On Time Delivery KPI and work with peers and customers to achieve a solution to receive goods On Time In Full* Ensure SLAs for ETAs are handled due diligently* Ensure Customer Service standards to the highest level* Be proactive and communicate effectively with Sales & Production teams to agree acceptable delivery schedules* Introduce effective performance management of your logistics suppliers as well as supporting, mentoring and driving performance of your team * Lead the logistics team in implementing ways to improve customer service and manage costs* Plan a daily / weekly delivery schedule through effective allocation and management of staff and vehicle resources in accordance with relevant driving and transport legislation* Handle all export documentation and work alongside the Export and Finance teams to produce accurate invoices and packing lists, Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, Airway Bills, Insurance certificates, EUR1, C of Os, etc. and associated paperwork* Handle customs clearance into the UK for imports (mainly from the EU)* Define and maintain up to date tariff / commodity codes for products (bought and sold) to minimise duty charges* Discover and comply with country specific requirements e.g. Arab Certification* Responsibility for organising air freight and shipping and liaison with freight forwarders* Undertake standard business administration for the logistics function* Analyse logistical problems and produce cost effective new solutionsWhat you will get in return:Salary£42,000 - £48,000 per annum, plus bonus scheme based on KPIs24 days annual leave plus 8 statutory bank holidays per annum (pro rata)Company pension scheme40 hours per week, normally from 8.30am - 5.00pm TravelOccasional travel within UK to suppliers and warehouse facilitiesIf you want to discuss this position in more detail, please contact Carl Walker at Elevation Recruitment Group.Elevation Recruitment Groups Procurement and Supply Chain division work with a vast range of businesses across Yorkshire and Humberside, Lincolnshire and East Midlands regions.
