Job Description

Job Title: General OperativeLocation: Holmfirth (HD9)Salary: 10.51Hours of Work: Night ShiftDue to an increase in workload our client is looking for additional staff to help out in their busy Dyehouse. Our client is a thriving company who specialize in the dying of fabrics and are looking for organized individuals with a strong work ethic to jointheir team as a General Operative to help prepare fabrics before the dying process.Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Sewing of Cloth
  • Weighing out fabrics using scales
  • Ensuring Weft is kept straight whilst packaging the cloth for the next machine
  • Moving equipment and carts from one area of the factory to another
  • Ensuring stacking and storage is kept in an orderly fashion to ensure it keeps walkways and access points clear
  • Following Procedures for different fabric qualities
  • Assisting in general preparation duties in the factory (multiskilling)
  • Keeping the machine in a clean and safe condition
  • Reporting any faults or inconsistencies to management
  • Adhering to health and safety policies and safe systems of work
  • Following Worksheets
Education / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
  • Good hand eye co-ordination
  • Ability to follow instructions well
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when necessary
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday, 18:00 - 0600 (46 hours per week)
