Job Description

Senior Quality MicrobiologistFull Time PermanentManchesterA leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturing company is currently recruiting a Senior quality microbiologist reporting into the Microbiology Team leader.The Senior Quality Microbiologist is charged with performing their work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with cGMP, Biosafety and Regulatory requirements. The function of this position is to perform Microbiological testing following approved methodology,to assure that the potency, purity, safety and stability of our products, components and facilities/utilities are compliant with approved specifications.Duties:

  • Senior Quality Microbiologist within Quality Operations conducts testing, reporting and investigations within the microbiology laboratory (product testing, facilities/utilities and microbiology laboratory support areas)
  • This position evaluates Microbiological methods, reviews test results, solves problems related to technical and equipment issues and is a training/support resource for other laboratory associates. Works closely with the Microbiology Quality Leader to resolveany issues and aids the Microbiology Quality Leader in work priorities. Routine testing is augmented with some special project work.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A science degree / HND/ NVQ 4 or equivalent with at least 1-3 years working experience in a GMP environment
  • High level of technical knowledge and expertise of quality control principles and systems in a GMP environment.
  • Computer-literate with experience in the use of Laboratory (LIMS, Data capture) and some Quality (Deviation, Change Control, CAPA support, Documentation) systems, an understanding of Statistical analysis packages as well as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver projects and investigations over short timescales (i.e. up to 3 months)
