Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Middlewich £DoE

If so, then please see below Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Middlewich £DoEHuxley Engineering and an Engineering Innovator in Structural Engineered Systems for Hazardous & Harsh Environment Applications are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for their Head Office near Middlewich, owing to succession planning & project pipeline for 2022-23+.Based near Middlewich (Cheshire) and reporting into the Engineering Manager, the SeniorMechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical & electromechanical products & systems for harsh and hazardous environment applications.The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary Engineering Team of Mechanical Design, Controls & Software Engineers to support the design, assembly, integration, check-out and testing of machines andsystems that meet the specifications and expectations of customers.Specifically, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Supporting proposals generation (Technical Requirements Capture, Associated Costs & Scheduling to deliver project)
  • Concept Design - Commercialisation of Projects (Mechanical Design, Modelling, Analysis & Calculation of machines, products or systems to customer spec, budget & schedule)
  • Working on multi-disciplinary projects with Software & Controls Engineers (integrating machine hardware, controls and software into the Machines, Systems & Products).
  • Lead and particular in design reviews (Customer & Internal RE Feasibility, Refinement & Evolution of a Design)
  • Produces detailed design drawings for system procurement, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Writing engineering documentation to design verification
Qualification & Experience Required for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role:
  • Previous Mechanical Design Experience (as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer etc)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience of design using 3D CAD Design software packages
  • Prior experience of using FEA Analysis Software and conduct Mechanical Engineering Calculations to validate designs (such as stress & structural calculations, stress of components etc).
  • Experience of MathCAD would be preferred
  • Prior experience of working to British, European or American Technical and Legislative standards
  • Prior DFM experience including Fabrication, Machining, Welding etc
  • Experience in material selection for harsh environments
  • Ideally experience of working in a project-led organisation (re documentation, budgeting, scheduling of materials etc)
  • Proactive Team Player, working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team with other mechanical, controls, and software engineers
