Job Description

Our client is the UKs No. 1 Laser & Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) manufacturer, supplying own manufactured & branded machines to private clinics & the NHS for a variety of cosmetic treatments.A vacancy has arisen for a Production Planner due to exceptional growth, restructuring and the desire to increase resource in the Production Team.Key Duties & Responsibilities -

  • Working closely with the Production Manager to alleviate bottle necks in his workload leading to full responsibility for production planning within the business
  • Planning of production activity of all products including laser-based cosmetic and medical devices using current systems and processes incl:
    - Successfully building short-term order based and medium-term rolling forecast production plans
    - Adapting production plans for:
* Changes in component availability* Changes in available resources* Changing client demands* Updates in product and specifications- Close liaison with manufacturing, materials teams to form robust build and test schedules- Management of related manufacturing documentation and tracking boards- Preparation and provision of status reports as required- Following 5S framework and lean principles within the Production area
  • Compliance with all site regulations
  • Responsible for the preparation of reports for the Management Team, where required
  • Ability to play a leading role in the update and implementation of new systems and process incl. a full ERP system
Abilities, Skills & Experience -Pre-Requisites:
  • 3 years of relevant production planning experience in a technology-based manufacturing environment
  • Experience in MRP/ERP environments
  • Proficient in planning software/tools
  • Proficient IT skills (MS Word, Excel particularly)
  • Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives and measures; monitors process, progress, and results; designs feedback loops into work
  • Can marshal resources (people, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently; arranges information and files in a useful manner
  • Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; sets objectives and goals; breaks down work into the process steps; develops schedules and task/people
  • Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; is constantly and consistently one of the top performers; steadfastly pushes self and others for results fixed starting mentality with initiative and the capacity for decision-making

Preferable:
  • Good undergraduate degree or similar academic or vocational qualification in a related field
  • 5 years or more of relevant manufacturing planning experience
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing
  • Experience with ISO13485 QMS
Remuneration & Benefits Package -
  • Up to £32,000 (DOE) (Negotiable) (37.5 Hours p.w.)
