A brand new and exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Automation Specialist / Automated Laboratory Technologist (must have good knowledge of cell culture using automated liquid handling systems) to join a Cambridge based spin out organisation. The company is developing cutting edge automated Scientific / Laboratory equipment which is set to revolutionise the market. You will be a key member of the team developing and validating biology protocols and processes. Writing scripts, workflows and testing that the automation delivers the science.The role requires a strong theoretical and practical grounding in biological sciences and experience in cell culture using automated liquid handling systems, including equipment process control.In return you can expect a fantastic working environment in a close-knit team, excellent career development opportunities, training, very competitive salary and benefits package.Lab Automation Specialist / Automated Laboratory Technologist Responsibilities* Development and validation of biology protocols and processes. Writing scripts, workflows and testing that the automation delivers the science.* Interacting with customers and experts in the field to get requirements and perform demonstrations.* Engagement with internal and external designers/suppliers to specify equipment components/consumables as well as come up with the appropriate test and validation for these.Lab Automation Specialist / Automated Laboratory Technologist Requirements* Minimum Bachelors degree in Biological sciences or equivalent discipline* Experience in cell culture using automated liquid handling systems* Experience in biotechnology equipment or related product development or R&D activity highly desirable.* Experience in process control or automation implementation desirable.* Experience in scripting (or programming) is desirable* Experience of using and teaching automated systemsJob Location: Cambridgeshire (Commutable from: Cambridge, Bedford, Huntingdon, St Neots, Peterborough, etc)Salary: £40k - £60k + excellent benefits and career progression opportunities.
