Job Description

A new opportunity for a Project Manager to join our world leading Scientific Operations team has arisen to work with the DNA Pipelines Technical Development team.About the role:As the project manager you will be required to provide end to end Project Management support and coordination of the technical development portfolio.You will be responsible for planning, structuring, leading and executing multiple projects of high risk and complexity delivery of multiple medium sized projects to internal clients that meet identified operational needs with responsibility for matrix managing Management and Operational staff assigned to projects, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills within agreed parameters of time scales, cost and quality.The projects will be focussed on various aspects of operational change, some of which will be critical to the organisation and requires a high level of skills for engaging people, understanding process and some technology concepts.The assigned projects are likely to have a strong emphasis on automation, and high throughput operations, including information and robotics technology and the role requires has an emphasis on client and stakeholder management in a scientific environment. Essential Skills Qualifications

  • Project Management training or qualification, e.g. MSP or PRINCE 2 Foundation, MSP or PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent experience
  • People Management:
  • Multi-functional team coordination
  • Confidently works with all levels and functions within multi-functional organisations.
  • Demonstrates good networking and relationship building and the ability to effectively manage stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Project Management:
  • Able to demonstrate commercial and academic understanding and appreciation.
  • Significant breath of experience at a project managerial level
  • Proven track record of leading and implementing significant project system change
  • Experience of working with commercial suppliers and external agencies
  • Excellent track record in successful end-to-end project management in a process driven environment
  • Proven experience of managing a large portfolio of active project simultaneously
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment with the ability to interpret management information to amend plans
  • The ability to quickly assimilate complex scientific and technical details and distil into key actions
  • Successfully manage significant change
  • Demonstrate success in delivering a number of complex projects through others on time, in budget and to agreed quality standards.
  • Successfully resolve a range of people related issues effectively involving formal mechanisms where required.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and analysis effectively to different organisations and audiences; accurately and concisely
  • Demonstrate an ability to provide, receive and record both routine and highly complex communications, electronically, orally and written
  • Highly developed excellent communication skills with experience of dealing with people at all levels successfully.
  • High level of influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to organise, plan and prioritise a diverse range of projects to meet statutory and other deadlines typically involving other disciplines/organisations
