Job Description

We are looking for a Product Manager to join [Open Targets](https://) at EMBL-EBI. You can also visit the [Open Targets Community](https://community.) to see first-hand how our data and tools are used to helpresearchers unlock insights to solve some of the most complex biological questions.***Your role:*Working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team with members that come from various professional backgrounds and countries across the world, you will be responsiblefor:* Setting the product strategy for Open Targets flagship informatics tools together with product owners and informatics directors* Conducting research with key stakeholders, drug discovery experts, and users to build use cases and requirements for newdata, features, and web interface (UI) elements* Working with bioinformaticians, data scientists, and developers across Open Targets to understand new and existing data that can benefit our products* Liaising with pharmaceutical partners on technical requirementsfor internal instances of informatics tools* Capturing feedback from help desk emails and Community posts, generating insights, and transforming them into higher value products and features* Maintaining awareness of industry trends and features and competitortools (private and open source) for benchmarking of Open Targets products* Developing metrics to assess the impact of Open Targets informatics tools and research publications, including the generation of monthly web analytics reports***You have:** Experienceor interest in product management for web-based, data-driven digital products and services* Broad technical understanding of backend and frontend web technologies* Knowledge of human genetics, genomics, and/or drug discovery - or are interested in learningabout these topics* Ability to work with technical and data teams and industry stakeholders to discover and define product vision, roadmaps, and key features* Skilled at creating low and high-fidelity specifications for developers* Ability to assess and assignpriority to tasks to ensure deadlines are met* Ability to evaluate product risks, solicit advice and input, and make recommendations on the most appropriate solutions* Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills* Experience solicitingfeedback from users across multiple channels (email, forums, in-person events, etc.)* Experience utilising quantitative and qualitative data and user feedback to influence decisions made by senior stakeholders* Basic understanding of web analytics***You mightalso have:** Previous experience working in the research or life science industries* Experience delivering product training* Experience in team management* Interest in promoting how Open Targets has solved complex challenges* Technical skills in Python, Spark,BigQuery, JavaScript (React), and/or HTML and CSS* Advanced skills in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager* Knowledge of key publications metrics, including citation counts and Altmetric scores[Apply now](https://jobs/position/EBI01984)*Closing date: *27February 2022* Grading: Grade 6 (monthly salary starting at £3,143 after tax) + benefits* Reference number: EBI01984-* Private medical insurance (for you and your family) * 30 days annual leave* Flexible work options* Family and children allowances* Pensionscheme* Gym* Visa support* Paid relocation * Home leave trips every two years for non UK residents* Child sick days* On-campus nursery* Social events, sports clubs & free passes for punting & the Cambridge botanical gardens * Support with career development*Free shuttle busses * For more details please [see our employee benefits page](https://about/jobs/benefits)*Interview Process** Technical test* Panel video interview with the Team Leader and a couple of colleagues* Informal meet the team Zoom call* References*OfferJava, Scala, ETL, Spark, GCPScala, Java, ETL, Python, GCP
