Job Description

We have a new opportunity to join us at the Wellcome Genome Campus in the role of Facilities Contract Manager on a part time basis working 21 hours per week. About the role:As Facilities Contract Manager, you will provide first class leadership and management of the outsourced security services and in house grounds services at the Wellcome Genome Campus.Responsibility includes delivering all commercial, financial, performance and quality management aspects of the Manned Guarding, Security Systems, Reception Services, Postal Services, Grounds Maintenance Pest Control.About us:Set across 130 acres, just outside of Cambridge, the Wellcome Genome Campus undertake genome and biodata research. We provide bioinformatics resources for the global scientific community and we deliver vital training in genomics and biodata to scientists and clinicians. We are at the interface of research and industry, translating science into tangible societal benefits.The Campus is home to two leading institutes as well as innovative genomics and biodata companies, scientific facilities, and a state of the art conference centre. Essential Skills

  • Subject matter expert in all aspects of Campus security
  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the procurement and delivery of outsourced security services.
  • Able to manage a varied portfolio of work, tight programmes, adapt to changing circumstances and prioritise work/resources.
  • Strong appreciation of the importance of H&S, together with relevant training
  • The post holder will when the need arises have to work unsociable or non-flexible hours.
  • Demonstrable experience in relation to statutory compliance and risk management.
  • First-rate people management and contractor relationship skills.
  • Self-motivated
  • Adept at managing complex stakeholder relationships, with a diplomatic and collaborative approach, natural interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across functional boundaries, where flexibility and a can do’ approach to teamwork is essential.
  • Proven experience of budget management, cost control, contract management and report writing, ideally gained within a value for money environment.
  • A logical problem solver with good judgement and decision making capability. Able to remain level-headed under pressure.
  • Genuinely passionate about and familiar with a customer-driven approach to the delivery of services, with a rigorous approach to standards of internal customer service and continuous improvement.
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office
    • Ideal Skills
  • Experience ideally gained within an environment of science and occupied spaces
  • Permit to Work, Risk Assessment and Method Statements drafting and review experience
