Job Description

Could you be our client’s next Technical Designer This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join a well-established design, manufacturing and installation specialist of high-end bespoke joinery.Technical Designer (Joinery)Hinckley, Leicestershire, LE10 3EY

  • Full time, permanent
  • £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + 29 Days Holiday + Progression + Training + Benefits
Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKOur client is a design and manufacturing specialist with over 60 years’ experience in the shopfitting industry. They are currently seeking a new Technical Designer to join their vibrant, friendly team. You will be working within the Technical Design Team andresponsible for the construction detail of bespoke furniture items. You will work closely with the production team to bring to life creative visualisations.This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded, privately owned business within a niche and profitable industry; working in manufacturing and project-based shop-fitting and interior fit-out. You will join as a Technical Designer, drawing up bespoke specifications for a wide range of products.This company is well known for an on-going investment in their staff, continuous training and unrivalled levels of retention. Due to the confirmed order book for 2024, they are looking for an additional SOLIDWORKS 3D Technician, to match the demands of theirservices.This role would suit an experienced SOLIDWORKS 3D user with a background in furniture and setworks design. In this fast-paced industry, you will flex your skills in a variety of industries, including:

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create new products, including 3D designs
  • Support the Design team with bespoke drawings / specifications
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to see your designs progress from drawing to reality
  • Support the procurement team by specifying bespoke materials and specialist suppliers
  • Take a client brief and realise conceptual designs into deliverable technical designs
  • Time management and planning workload
Qualifications:
  • Expert SOLIDWORKS 3D user
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient use of Microsoft programmes
  • Knowledgeable in creation of BOMs from design
  • Skilled in use of an ERP system (Microsoft NAV preferred)
  • Expert knowledge of furniture construction and joinery methods
  • Build materials expert, with an interest in new material developments
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Furniture or Product Design preferred
