Senior Electoral Services OfficerGrade 5, £23,080 up to £27,041 per annum pro rata37 hours per week, on a permanent contractElectoral Services are looking to recruit a keen and committed officer to join our team in the administration of free, fair elections and referenda across the borough area and the compilation of the electoral register. You will have the opportunity to develop your project management and supervisory skills while delivering quality front-line service to our 88,000 electors and 24 parishes.Under the guidance of the Electoral Services Manager, you will play a key role in the preparation of all elections and referendums and supervision of the day-to-day electoral registration procedures. Tasks will range widely, but in particular you will beproviding your specialist expertise to members of the public, councillors, candidates and agents; contributing to the planning and organisation of all electoral projects; recruiting and supervising temporary staff; and monitoring accuracy and the distributionof the electoral register.This role will deputise for the Electoral Services Manager in her absence and as such, previous experience in an Electoral Services office and knowledge of electoral procedures is essential. You should hold the AEA Certificate in Electoral Administration,or be willing to work towards it, and have practical experience using an Electoral Management System. Experience of Xpress is not essential but would be beneficial to your application.As the successful applicant, you will have excellent communication and customer service skills.
