Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • You will be required to support compliance to AS9100 and Company Quality system requirements as they pertain to inspection.
  • The candidate will perform dimensional measurement and inspection of a variety of manufactured components using a variety of measurement tools and techniques.
  • The ability to use CMM (PCDmis) metrology equipment, programming would be valuable.
  • The candidate will work in a demanding environment, where accuracy and quality are the highest priority.
  • The successful candidate will preferably have experience in an Aerospace / Automotive environment, be self-motivated and be able to work with limited supervision as part of an integrated high performing team.
  • Partake in generation of work instructions / operation sheets, assist in RCA actions, prepare and FAIR to AS9102 and inspection documentation.
  • Work with production control, engineering, manufacturing, inspection to improve quality of product.
  • Inspect parts to detailed component definitions, procedures and customer specifications including goods inward visual inspection.
  • Assist and support other inspectors with dimensional inspection.
  • Complete inspection documentation as necessary.
  • Raise non-conformance reports and correction documentation.
  • Generate and methodically review quality reports of measurement results.
  • Assist in determining root cause and implement corrective action for internal product defects.
  • Create and maintain inspection related documents, manufacturing and test records to satisfy the quality requirements of customers and internal procedures, in conjunction with manufacturing personnel.
  • Control equipment, which influences quality to ensure it, is maintained in good condition and, when appropriate, within calibration / certification, MSA / Gauge R&R.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean working environment, parts to be free from contamination and foreign objects, sustain high standards of quality, environmental and health and safety standards.
  • Use of appropriate quality tools - Six Sigma, 5Ys, 5s, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Performing other duties as deemed necessary to ensure the effective running of the Department and Company.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
  • Experience working in aerospace / automotive quality systems minimum 5 years.
  • Recognised, apprenticeship in engineering would be beneficial.
  • Production floor experience in defect reduction and process improvement.
  • Working knowledge of common CMM software.
  • Proficient using various inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators.
  • Proficient IT skills including MS-Office (primarily, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing methods.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all employee levels.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a positive approach to all areas of work.
Desirable Skills
  • HNC/HND or higher.
  • Generate CMM programs.
  • Able to work extended hours as needed.
  • Special processes experience advantageous, Coatings, paint & NDT.
  • FAIR / Control Plans / PPAP
  • Six Sigma, 5Ys, 5s, and Continuous Improvement
Shift PatternDays: 4.5 Day week - Mon - Thurs 8 am to 16:45 - Fri 8 am to 12:00pm
