Job Description

Position: Payroll Assistant / AdministratorLocation: Barwell/Hinckley, LeicestershireSalary: up to £25,000 per yearFull-time OR Part-time (with flexibility to work around school hours)Duration: PermanentMacildowie are pleased to be partnered with this flexible and growing company located near Hinckley, Leicestershire. We are looking for Payroll Assistants to join this well-functioning team; you will be responsible to administer any changes to the Payrollas well as the monthly Payroll submissions.Although Payroll experience is advantageous, we will consider candidates with great Administrative skills/experience who are looking for their first role within Payroll (full training provided).Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Payroll team, running the monthly payroll processing and generating any required reports
  • Calculate and inputting commisions, overtime, bonuses and any other ad hoc payments
  • Calculate absences - ensuring payments and deductions are made accurately
  • Process new starters and leavers
  • Oversee (occasionally) and run a payroll of between 800-900 staff
  • Administrative tasks such as: PAYE, NI, Pensions, HMRC Tax codes
  • Simplify reporting data using Microsoft Excel speadsheets
  • Dealing with employee queries over the phone and/or in person
  • Usage of the Time and Attendance system (including importing of time into the payroll system)
  • Reconciling and paying third party payments
  • Assist in gross to net payroll calculation check for employees
Requirements:
  • Must pay attention to detail
  • Must be able to demonstrate great Administrative skills
  • Numerical skills
  • Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations, showing patience and empathy
  • Computer literate - use of Microsoft packages competently
