Job Description

Our family run business has been crafting beautiful furniture for over 90 years, utilising any space to create well-ordered homes all overthe UK so that our customers can live better.An opportunity has arisen at our Operations Hub based in Hinckley for an NPI/R&D Manager. Reporting directly to the Board and leading a small but dedicated NPI/R&D team you will be responsible for co-developing, engineering and managing the introduction of new products to a high-quality standard.You will have previous management experience and be able to utilise your NPI/R&D skills and experience, ideally gained within a similar environment. A passion for furniture would be advantageous, but not essential.As NPI / R&D Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • Successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of multiple New Production Introductions.
  • Cross- functional project management of the NPD process from design through to launch, in accordance to agreed business plans to deliver projects on time, on cost and to quality.
  • Line managing responsibility, developing and monitoring the performance of your team
  • Working closing with Marketing and other departments to assist with new product launches.
  • Ensuring new products are designed for manufacture, ease and speed of installation and can be competitively sourced
To succeed in this NPI/R&D Manager role, you will:
  • Have a relevant Degree/Qualification.
  • Experience in a supervisory/management role within a similar business area
  • Demonstratable knowledge in product design, 3D CAD skills, budget management, production engineering and materials knowledge.
  • Be self-motivated, have good initiative and an out the box thinker.
