Job Description

MIG WelderMetalis are working with a leading manufacturing company based in Hinckley who are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join their team. Our client has established a reputation for highly skilled manufacturing.As a MIG Welder you will play a vital role in the construction and fabrication of various materials. You will be responsible for assembling, welding, and fabricating various steel structures, ensuring they meet the required specifications, quality standards,and project deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent welding skills, technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.Job Duties:

  • Interpret and follow technical blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate various metals.
  • Operate various welding and fabrication equipment, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welders, plasma cutters, and grinders, with proficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and shaping them as required for the welding and fabrication processes.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks, including fitting and welding components, assembling structures, and ensuring accurate alignment.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure the structural integrity and dimensional accuracy of fabricated components.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as engineers, project managers, and quality control personnel, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper storage and handling of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations, actively promoting a safe working environment and reporting any hazards or incidents.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand welding symbols and codes.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to welding and fabrication.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments, including elevated heights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Salary & Hours:
  • Salary: £13.50 per hour
  • Contracted hours: 02:309m - 01:00am Monday - Thursday
  • Overtime available
  • Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
