Commercial ManagerSigma are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. This role is based in Hinckley with travel to our Farnborough site and across the UK to meet with our clients, so you will need access to your own vehiclewith a full UK driving license.Sigma are a leading manufacturer of rigid Pipes, Ducts Manifolds, Fabrications and Sub-Assemblies, Sheet and Machined Details, and Specialist Fasteners.Across the civil and military Aerospace sector, we specialise in supplying products and services to OEMs and Tier 1s in both Airframe and Engine.We are looking for an applicant that shows positivity and energy. It is a given that you are resilient, have good interpersonal skills and able to influence people to fulfil allclient needs.The roleAs our Commercial Manager, you will manage all Commercial elements of the Sigma sites.The position will report to the Business Development Director and you will also manage and support the Estimating Engineers responsible for preparing quotations.Main duties Be responsible for all commercial elements of the business. Optimise business profitability through a thorough understanding of our business and market conditions. To be the focal point for collation and resolution of all exceptional events having a commercial impact on our business. Ensure both internal and external compliance to contract policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Compile complex bid packs and contracts from initial proposal through to contract completion, involving pricing, customer negotiation, identifying potential contract problems through to final conclusion. Working with the Business Development Managers, Estimating Engineers and Quality to prepare quotations and proposals to satisfy the customers requirements. Be capable of estimating and creating large project pricing submissions using EPICOR and excel. Negotiate with customers to convert quotes into profitable and sustainable orders. This may require travel within the UK and internationally as required. Negotiate and finalise all Customer Contracts and LTAs. Develop and maintain close relationship with customers and achieve excellent levels of communication and responsiveness. Identify and drive margin improvement activities ensuring cross-department compliance with Engineering/Finance/Operations teams. Manage the commercial claims process from identification through to resolution. Working with the team construct and manage the sales revenue budget plan using existing proven excel based modelling tools and monitor on a monthly basis. Working collaboratively with senior managers across multiple countries and building strong and lasting client relationships throughout Sigma.To be successful, you will Be commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills. Have a winning mentality, with proven, and demonstrable background in bid management, preferably with experience of leading major bids to global markets. Well-honed technical understanding of the requirements for mechanical components, preferably with a commercial/engineering related degree or time served experience within a similar role. Ideally commercial and/or technical knowledge of the Aerospace market however other sectors will be considered (Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing, Rail etc). Excellent IT skills across a range of packages, Excel spreadsheets for financial modelling analysis is essential, coupled with experience with ERP systems (EPICOR is preferred). Good communication, interpersonal and team-working skills to form strong working relationships with customers and colleagues. Tenacity, resilience, and tact are requisite for this role, together with the ability to think on your feet when you are face to face within negotiation activities. Must have access to a car and a Full UK driving license.If successful, you will receive £50,000 per annum depending on experience. 7.30am4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
