Job Description

This leading and well-known accountancy firm brand have new job opportunities in Leicester within their Accounting team, either at part-qualified or qualified level which are job titles of “Supervisor” and “Assistant Manager”.The recruitment is focused on the Accounting team and with two roles potentially on offer, applications are welcome from people excited by the chance to join a leading accountancy brand offering great support, a tremendous benefits package, strong pay in line with one of the largest accountancy firmsand great flexibility on hybrid and working hours.If you are anywhere from part qualified / Semi-Senior level through to a qualified / post qualified grade, the firm would like to know about you, with those having experience of smaller practice backgrounds welcomed too. Key skills in accounts preparation,basic tax computations and ideally someone competent with xero are sought by the local team’s Directors.Salaries are being bench-marked currently, so are likely to rise and will depend on your experience / qualification level, with a considerable benefits package, in line with this firm’s size and status.An overview is below, but don’t take this too literally, as the firm can hire at any level from Semi-Senior to Qualified Accountant / Assistant Manager level.Overall job purposeThe team are responsible for the preparation of accounts for SME clients. Much work is done for the client on the year end statutory accounts and therefore a strong understanding of FRS 102 and FRS 105 is preferred.Responsibilities

  • To ensure that jobs are completed to the highest standard
  • To take the hands-on supervisory role on assignments as and when required
  • Train clients on their accounts system
  • Deals quickly and effectively with client queries
  • To brief junior staff on the client’s business and the pre-assignment instructions, to supervise and control the completion of work, and to undertake ‘on the job’ training and provide feedback where necessary
  • To liaise with the client throughout the year and to practice the principles of excellent client service at all times
  • Delivery of high-quality financial statements and overall service to clients
Personal and professional qualitiesThe role requires:
  • A good understanding of UK financial reporting requirements
  • Experienced in the use of Sage and Xero.
  • Strong accounts production skills.
  • Ability to prepare corporation tax computations.
