Job Description

Axon Moore are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Heywood. My client is seeking a Credit Control Manager to join the finance team in a newly created role on a permanent basis.This would be the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, driven Credit Control Manager looking for a busy role in a growing group of companies. The credit control manager is responsible for overseeing the team of around 8 credit controllers for the group, coveringmultiple companies, branches and locations, to ensure effective collections and minimise overdue debts. Responsibilities include:

  • Day Responsible for the day to day management of the credit control team.
  • Ensuring solid customer relationships are built and maintained with and liaising with the operations and finance teams internally to help minimise overdue debt.
  • Involvement in the collection of debts for escalated accounts where necessary.
  • Reviews of aged debt reports and unallocated cash; conducting ledger reviews and ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
  • Overseeing the credit limits and terms set for customers, ensuring credit worthiness.
  • Manage the monitoring and reporting required in respect of the credit insurance.
  • Ensure any write offs and credit notes are appropriately actioned and approved, providing analysis and reporting on underlying reasons for the cause.
  • Manage submission of claims to credit insurers and liaising with the commercial teams as appropriate on legal matters.
  • Production of the debt reporting and target setting for the group.
  • Assist in developing the groups credit management policies and procedures to minimise risk.
  • Provide input into system requirements or developments within the new ERP where necessary.
  • Responsible for all staff appraisals and personal development.
  • Assist the wider finance team as necessary.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
  • Proven people management experience
  • 5+ years experience within credit control
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
  • CICM or a relevant qualification would be beneficial
  • Experience within a contracting environment
  • Previous experience of credit insurance
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive with an appetite to add value and improve processes
