We have 2 x homes on site - Acorn provides5 short break beds and Adlin House is a 4-bedded long-stay childrens home. We are a highly motivated team with high aspirations for children.As aResidential Worker youll be leading shifts and become part of a team who areresponsible for providing a high quality and outcome-focused service to disabled children and their families. This is based on an annual assessment of need that is regularlyreviewed and outcomes driven and by developing effective working relationships, using various channels of communication with Action for Children colleagues, partner agencies and other external agencies.Occasional waking nights are also part of the post and are shared out across the full staff team, although we are also looking for dedicated night workers. Although the role is advertised as 37 hours (5 days) there is some flexibility so the hours may benegotiable for the right person to join our team.You will make a difference by:- Case/care planning management for individual children and young people, undertaking assessment of need, developing a care plan and identifying agreed outcomes and carrying out regular reviews.- Leading and working on shifts with accountability for service delivery, assessing and managing risks, deploying staff and resources accordingly.- Supervising, guiding or directing staff and volunteers where required and provide mentoring to newly appointed staff.- Supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with Action for Childrens policy and procedures and regulatory requirements.- Undertaking assessment of children and young people co-ordinating multi agency and family information, analysing and producing reports; attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.You will need:- Level 3 Diploma inResidential Childcare OR Children and Young People ORequivalentrelevantqualifications.However, if you do not have the necessary qualification, we will train you in VQ Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Award- Experience of working with children and young people with additional needs.- Commitment to working on a 24-hour shift rota pattern which includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays.- Access to a driving license and a vehicle would be desirable and there is an opportunity to be trained to drive the homes minibus.The way we workWe work to make sure every child and young person has the love, support and opportunity they need to reach their potential.
