Job Description

Are you a highly skilled Maintenance Fitter with a true passion for the world of mechanical engineering Do you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to become a crucial part of our clientsteam as a Maintenance Fitter at their cutting-edge facility in Hexham.Role and Responsibilities:As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be the driving force behind ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our clients vital machinery and equipment. Your role will encompass:

  • Conducting Planned, Reactive, and Preventive Maintenance on a diverse range of plant machinery.
  • Proficiently managing maintenance tasks involving pumps, valves, convert machines, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Playing a pivotal role in boosting plant efficiency and productivity by swiftly addressing maintenance challenges.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with a team of dedicated professionals to identify areas for enhancement and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrating flexibility by actively participating in an on-call rota, which includes some weekends (approximately 1 in 4), as well as overtime when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:To excel in this role, youll need to bring:
  • A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG & ARC welding, an asset.
  • Previous forklift driving experience, a plus.
  • Familiarity with steam systems, a desirable quality.

  • A permanent Dayshift role, working Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00, and Friday from 08:00 to 15:00.
