Job Description

Senior Children Support WorkerIf you are looking to make a difference, being a Senior Children Support Worker at A Wilderness Way could be the role for you. We are looking for experienced professionals to join our team in our continued work to transform the lives of the children we lookafter. You will mentor, support and coach new staff and draw upon your extensive experience to manage any challenges that may arise.Due to the nature of the role you will need previous experience working on the front line in Childrens Residential Services. You will also need to have a full UK driving license (with access to a car for your commute) and ideally have achieved your Level3 diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent or be willing to undertake this within 2 years. We will consider applications from candidates who have an understanding of the complex needs of children who have experienced trauma and exploitationincludingthose with a social work background.Join us and you can expect:

  • Basic salary scales for this role are £30,420 to £32,448 per annum plus sleeps (£34,380 - £36,408 p/a). For employees travelling more than 60 miles commute, there is also a travel allowance available equating to a further £1,800 per annum.
  • Further increases in our salary scales scheduled for September 2022.
  • These roles will be based in one of our homes around Kirkby Stephen, Appleby, Penrith,Carlisle or West Cumbria, depending on your locality preference.
