This role is available on a full-time, permanent basis, working 39 hours per week, and in return, we will offer a competitive rate of £9.50 per hour plus Sleep In rate.Who are weThera Trust was first set up in 1998 and over the years we have grown from a team supporting 5 people in Cambridgeshire, to a nationwide trust providing a range of support for around 3000 people with a learning disability.We believe that people with a learning disability can be leaders.Our Vision is at the heart of everything we do and we make the Vision real through direct leadership by people with a learning disability at all levels, through our projects and locally-led companies, and through giving people real choice and control abouthow they live their lives.About the role:As our FemaleSupport Worker, you will be supporting a wonderful lady who lives alone, with 24/7 support.This Lady enjoys arts & crafts, having her nails done, watching old slapstick comedies on you-tube, listening to music while out for drives in the car, walks and feeding horses, likes relaxing with a face mask, visiting the local bakery, and keeping in contact/visitingfamily.There is a dedicated staff team already providing support and between them, they have many years of experience and expertise for you to draw on. You will also have the full support of our very hands-on managers who dont just sit in an office all day!All our managers are a real presence in support locations which is invaluable in creating a caring, nurturing environment for our staff teams.The role will be varied, and not only will you become a positive role model in her life, but you will also be supporting her with many aspects of daily living such as shopping, preparing meals, housework and support with personal care.What we are looking for in our Female Support WorkerFor this role we require someone with experience of working with learning disabilities and mental health who is dedicated to supporting people with complex behavioural needs and has an understanding of the importance of following support plans and behaviouralsupport plans without deviation.The successful candidate will have an awareness of how staff appearance and the environment can have an impact on how a person with complex needs can perceive you and how you start a day supporting someone can shape a persons whole day to be successfuland meaningful.This role can be very rewarding, however as you would naturally expect there are inevitably some difficult and challenging situations. You need to be the sort of person that can take things in their stride, remain calm and be confident in dealing with themappropriately in line with agreed ways of support in the support plan.You will need to be flexible and able to work various shift patterns including early and late shifts, long days, which includes weekends as well as sleep-ins for which additional payments will be made.For this role, drivers are essential.Benefits of being a Female Support Worker
