Job Title: Assistant Public Health AnalystLocation: Hertford and/ or Stevenage, with opportunities for flexible workingSalary Range: £27,741 pa progressing to £30,451paHours: 37 per weekContract: Fixed -Term/ Secondment opportunity - 12 monthsJob Duties:About usThe Public Health Evidence and Intelligence team is part of Hertfordshire County Council. In order to improve the health of our residents we need to understand their needs, so ensuring that we have relevant, accurate and up-to-date data is important in determining the services we provide. This is especially the case during the COVID-19 pandemic.The roleThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a key member of a team committed to encouraging and enabling an evidence-based approach to improving the health of Hertfordshire residents. Woking with a range of partner organisations, the role involves processing and analysing large amount of data to identify patterns to inform the response to COVID-19 in Hertfordshire. You will also undertake complex statistical and epidemiological analysis and modelling, supported by other analysts in the team.About youA degree or equivalent work experience is required for this role. Experience will ideally be in one or a number of the following disciplines: public health/ epidemiology, statistics/ information analysis/ data science with additional experience in the analysis of complex datasets. You will be a highly motivated individual, committed to service excellence and you will be confident working both on your own and within a team environment.You will have excellent knowledge of Excel, and the ability to summarise and organise data. Confident with IT you will quickly pick up new skills and statistical software with training and support from team members.
