Job Description

Connect Housing is looking for experienced and enthusiastic people who are committed to working with young people to improve their life chances. The role of Night Support Worker would be working primarily in our Young Peoples Accommodation Services Heckmondwike(Hollinbank and Swan Lane)As a Night Support Worker, you will provide emotional support during the night and early morning. You will maintain the health and safety of both the building and our young people.Youll have experience working with young people, your insight and empathy are part of your passion to deliver excellent services that really do help people change their lives. Youll be taking part in:

  • developing and maintaining positive relationships with service users,
  • development and delivery of group activities for people accessing the service
  • Be an effective communicator, work under your own initiative and under pressure
  • Work as part of a skilled and experienced team to help and support young people with multiple and complex needs
Post holders must have a thorough understanding of the statutory processes for Child Protection and Safeguarding, and be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and manage risk.You will work closely with a team of Housing Support Coordinators, Housing Support Coaches, and other Night Support Workers however you will need to be able to work on your own initiative and under pressure and take responsibility including regularly workingalone in the service.You will be based at services in Huddersfield and Heckmondwike. This would be working to a four weekly rolling rota which would include some weekend working.
