Job Description

Legal SecretaryOur client is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their professional and well-established business based in Heckmondwike.The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Solicitors Practice, this is a very busy role, which means our client will require someone who can hit the ground running. You will play a pivotal part of their legal team; therefore, you must have excellentcommunication skills, an excellent telephone manner, strong organisational and secretarial skills.Hours of work are 36.25 hours per week - Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm with 45 minutes unpaid lunch break.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring file management is in accordance with Quality Procedures Manual, LSC Contract, CQS and Lexcel/SQM requirements
  • Cover reception duties
  • Liaising with clients in person and by telephone in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firms standards for client care
  • Arranging mail despatch by post, hand, or Document Exchange
  • Preparation of correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing
  • Maintaining diaries and making appointments when required
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all the firms and clients documentation and information
  • Daily filing including file opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
  • Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with Equality and Diversity Policy
Key attributes and experience needed:
  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary - ESSENTIAL
  • Strong organisation and communication skills
  • Excellent English, both verbal and written
  • Word processing and audio typing
