Job Description

We are working with our growing manufacturing client in their search for a Quality Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing 1st response support for process quality issues and will have extensive experience using CMM, Micrometres,Microscopes and Dial Gauges.   • Work with Operations to identify, investigate and resolve non-conformances
  • Utilise measurement equipment such as CMMs, dial gauges, microscopes etc to inspect incoming material before release to production
  • Resolve supplier quality issues and improve supplier quality performance
  • Raise manage and support 8Ds for issues identified coming from supplier, process and customer.
  • Assure quality readiness through development cycle of new products, defining appropriate standards
  • Define inspection checks for each production phase and update quality documentation where required
  • Gather, monitor, analyse production data to identify trends and prioritise improvement tasks
  • Act as the companys first line/quick response for customer quality issues
  • Support Production for quality issues and other problem solving activities
  • Support the concern management process, including containment, rework, quality alerts, data gathering, measurements, supplier communication, raising concerns and follow-up, and other activities to support
  • Perform Quality checks such as first-off checks, product audits, process audit
  • Regular reporting
  • Perform measurement studies
  • Support quality management and site management objectives and tasks
  • Support quality management and site management reporting requirements
The Person:
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities using recognised automotive "tool kit"
  • An appreciation of electro/mechanical manufacturing processes
  • From an automotive background with a detailed knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles
  • Most have experience of GD&T and reading engineering drawings
  • Able to use a range of measurement equipment including a CMM
