Job Description

For everybody involved, this is something we are extremely proud of.Hygiene Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • To be aware of all cleaning chemicals their uses, mixing strengths and precautions.
  • Coordinate a team ensuring harmony between hygiene and production requirements.
  • To be able to select, wear and advise on protective clothing appropriate for the task.
  • To be able to record all cleaning operations on the Hygiene Schedules.
  • To be able to design, implement and manage hygiene schedules.
  • To ensure that risks of cross contamination are minimised.
  • To be an active member of the company HACCP team.
  • To verify all cleaning operations and record this within the schedules.
  • To accurately assess the cleanliness of plant and equipment.
  • To ensure that hygiene schedules are implemented and adhered to
  • To clean in such a way so as to leave cleaned areas free of contamination and contaminants.
  • To be aware of the correct colour coding of equipment and its specific uses.
  • To be aware of segregation and quarantine procedures relating to Hygiene.
  • To ensure that staff facilities are maintained in a hygienic condition, safe and are fit for purpose.
  • Supervision and day to day management of the Hygiene Team.
  • To manage hygiene stock levels and place orders in good time to avoid running out of essential hygiene stock including tools, chemicals and all consumables.
  • To ensure that the laundry schedules are maintained including staff changeover and laundry pick up and exchange.
  • To adhere to all aspects of the company hygiene policy and all operational procedures.
  • To participate in hygiene related risk assessments.
  • To design, implement and manage hygiene related Standard Operating Procedures.
  • To monitor and maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of all production areas and the food manufacturing machines in the facility
  • To ensure the delivery of hygiene and cleanliness, is as per the agreed hygiene standards for the site within the food manufacturing facility
  • To train and motivate staff to achieve the required standards of performance
  • To ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are maintained, kept secured, and well stocked.
  • Hygiene Team Leader Requirements:
  • Food Hygiene qualification to national level two or equivalent
  • Hygiene-related qualifications i.e. COSHH, IOSH etc. (Highly desirable)
  • To have ideally worked in a Food manufacturing industry
  • Chemical awareness
  • Previous team leading or supervisory experience is also a bonus
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written
  • To ideally live within a 40 minute commuting distance to site
  • Operate in accordance with the company Health and Safety Policy and all agreed safety procedures
  • Wear all protective equipment when entering operational areas as appropriate. Adhere and work within hygiene and medical requirements and ensure all others are also complying
