Job Description

Specialist Fresh Food business is looking for a Buyer to support this fast growing business who supplying 1st Class products to the high end food service sector.Our Client is a leading importer and distributor of Gourmet Foods - in particular Fish and Seafood supplying high quality, sustainably sourced products to top Restaurants and Food Service business in Southern and Central England.The Senior Buyer will work closely with the Procurement Manager taking responsible for all aspects of the purchasing function including:

  • Local and International purchasing
  • Stock Level Controls and Supplier Order Management
  • Management of Procurement Procedures
  • Utilisation and maintenance of Procurement Systems
  • Report management from CRM system
This is a specialist food category and the business will invest in you to learn their business, suppliers and customers to ensure your long term success with them.Fish and Seafood experience would be a distinct advantage for this role, but experience with the procurement of similar food products will be strongly considered if your heart is in procurement and this is where you want to take your career. Other key attributeswill include:
  • Part or fully CIPS qualified.
  • Educated to degree level or above, with previous experience in a food-related role
  • Numerate, literate, with intermediate/advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
